Karanji Lake is a beautiful lake located at the foot of Chamundi Hills. The Lake is surrounded by nature park. It has butterfly park and a walk-through aviary. This aviary is the biggest in India. Karanji lake is owned by the authorities of Mysore Zoo. Karanji lake is a bird sanctuary in the middle of Mysore city. It is just beside the Mysore zoo. It is a habitat for more than 70 species of avifauna. This lake is spread over 90 acres. The lake has boating, butterfly park, Children’s corner.
